To search specific addresses within the community, residents can go to the map at Location Summary | FCC National Broadband Map

On that page, you will see a “Mobile Challenge” button which consumers can use to challenge the map – and the reporting that they have 100% coverage. Consumers can also file a complaint with the FCC here: Phone Form - Descriptions of Complaint Issues – FCC Complaints.

In terms of federal programs, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has set aside $8 billion for the 5G Fund for Rural America. This included $8 billion to bring voice and high[1]speed mobile broadband services to rural areas unlikely to see 5G cellular deployments without subsidies. Since there are 5G services already in this area, it may mean that this area may not be eligible for such federal funding.

If the issues center around indoor coverage, the question is trickier. This map shows outdoor coverage. Oftentimes, to boost indoor coverage, consumers can purchase signal boosters to amplify signals in the home to reach areas that are not receiving signals (e.g., basement). Telecom providers, private manufacturers, and retail stores offer signal boosters. For example, see: Cell phone signal booster for home | Verizon Wireless. The FCC has information/guidance on signal boosters here: Signal Boosters FAQ | Federal Communications Commission.

Bottom line is that if folks are not receiving any coverage, they can contact their provider and/or challenge this FCC map. If they are having trouble receiving coverage indoors, they may want to contact their provider and/or inquire about signal boosters or purchase them separately to extend the signal to areas of their home that do not have coverage. In terms of federal funding, the 5G Fund for Rural America is on hold right now, but even if it moves forward, the intent is to extend 5G where there is no economic incentive for the providers to offer 5G cellular, and in this region, it appears there is already 5G, so this region may not be eligible for such funding.

Page Purpose (Why This Exists)

Most HOAs fail at funding not because money doesn’t exist—but because:

  • Authority is unclear

  • Eligibility is indirect

  • Partners are missing

  • Timing is misunderstood

This page solves visibility, not applications.
